International bestseller

"A good meaty read – an intelligent book with intelligent characters."
The Times

Ever feel like you're in over your head?

Coll has just about forgiven Art for assuming that she'll sleep with him. He's promised her that they can take things slowly, that the time has to be right for her. But just when is the right time? And how will their relationship change afterwards? There's only one way to find out. Coll is about to plunge into the first truly passionate relationship of her life and she's excited, scared, exhilarated... But will she sink or swim?

"In this second of a trilogy, high school students Coll and Art are on the brink of intimacy – Art insisting, Coll resisting. Their paths go in separate directions before the inevitable reconciliation. The story includes much teenaged angst, sex (for the first time and after), pregnancy (for Coll's friend Val), parental problems, and the unpredictable ups and downs of juvenile lives. Australian actress Nicky Talacko slips easily into the sneakers of both needy, vulnerable Coll and macho, demanding Art, and brings a rich maturity and patient understanding to Coll's mother. Basically for the YA set, this story is a glimpse of things to come, but a remembrance of things past for adults."
