Richard C. Morais

Mr. Morais's debut novel, The Hundred-Foot Journey, is an international bestseller that was picked by O, Oprah's magazine; Amazon-Kindle; National Public Radio; and the American Booksellers Association, as one of the best reads in America during the 2010 summer. The book was also an "editor's choice" at The New Times Book Review, and a Book Of The Month Club pick for 2011. The novel has now sold in 18 territories across the globe and is in "active development" as a Hollywood film. (For more, see: www.richardcmorais.com ). In August, 2011, The Hundred-Foot Journey was the Mail On Sunday's Book Of The Month. Mr. Morais has just completed Buddhaland Brooklyn, a novel about a Buddhist priest sent across the ocean to build a temple in an Italian neighborhood in New York City. His second novel was published in the US by Scribner in 2012 and in the UK by Alma Books in 2013. Mr. Morais worked for Forbes magazine for 25 years, mostly while stationed in London, where he was the magazine's European Bureau Chief.
