Her Excellency, The Honourable Quentin Bryce AC CVO, is Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia at the time of this recording. She is the first woman to hold the position, and was previously the Governor of Queensland from 2003 to 2008. Her contribution to advancing human rights and equality, and the rights of women and children, was recognised in her appointment as a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2003.
