Philip Ashley-Brown worked for nearly ten years in at 1233 ABC Newcastle as a field reporter and news journalist. He won a number of awards for his work in Newcastle including his reports from the 2002 bushfires; his story on an open-heart surgery operation where he stood next to the surgeon during the procedure; his series on the Hunter’s rescue helicopter and for "Coastal Stories" a series of stories from along the NSW coastline. He currently manages ABC Radio in Newcastle.
